SPC Opening for Land Development Expert |
|
|
|
The CTC SPC is currently looking for an expert in the land development industry.
The CTC Source Protection Committee will accept applications until Monday, March 16, 2009 for an interested, committed individual with relevant experience in the land development sector to become a member of the committee. This individual will replace the current land development sector representative and be asked to act as a liaison between the committee and the building and development industry in the region.

Outreach and Education Special Projects Funding |
|
|
|
Are you interested in raising awareness of drinking water safety related to the Clean Water Act, Ontario Drinking Water Stewardship or the protection of municipal water sources? If so, you could be eligible to receive financial assistance under the Education and Outreach component of the Ontario Drinking Water Stewardship Program. The program may cover 100% of your costs and can be applied to activities that:
- Educate the agricultural community on drinking water source protection best management practices
- Encourage businesses and industries across the province to develop and implement policies and practices that are consistent with drinking water source protection planning
- Develop strategies to incorporate education on drinking water source protection into teaching programs
- Develop outreach strategies to inform the local community about the Clean Water Act and encourage action and behaviour that support drinking water source protection initiatives.

Technical Rules, Map Symbology and Tables of Drinking Water Threats Released |
|
|
|
On November 20, 2008 the Ministry of the Environment released technical rules that will guide the development of Assessment Reports across Ontario. The technical rules establish the approach to be used to develop the contents required to be included in an assessment report by section 15 of the Act and the proposed Assessment Reports regulation.

CTC Proposed Terms of Reference |
|
|
|
The Proposed Terms of Reference for each of the CTC source protection areas have been completed and submitted to the appropriate Source Protection Authority. The Source Protection Authorities will take these Proposed Terms of Reference along with comments received between October 20th and November 19th and submit them to the Ministry of the Environment before December 22, 2008.

McGuinty Government Committed To Providing Ontarians With Safe Drinking Water
Construction is underway on the new Walkerton Clean Water Centre.
The new, energy efficient building will increase the centre’s capacity to conduct training, seminars, information sessions and research.
