The CTC Source Protection Committee have completed their Terms of Reference and received approval from the Ministry of the Environment on August 17, 2009.  With the posting of approval for the of the CTC Terms of Reference  to the Environmental Registry deadline for submission of the CTC Assessment Reports is now set at August 17, 2010.

The Proposed Terms of Reference were made available for public comment until November 19, 2008. On December 19, 2008 the Source Protection Authorities in the CTC submitted the Proposed Terms of Reference along with their own comments and comments received from the public to the Ontario Ministry of the Environment.  Following this submission the CTC SPC recieved comments from the Ministry of the Environment and the revised Proposed Terms of Reference documents were submitted on July 4, 2009.  For more information regarding these revisions see agenda Item 6.1 in SPC Meeting #4/09.

What happens to public comments?

All comments received in writing, or verbally at public open houses, prior to September 21, 2008 were incorporated into the Proposed Terms of Reference and included in Appendix F of the Proposed Terms of Reference. The Source Protection Authority make further revisions to the Terms of Reference but have submitted their own comments, any public comments received and the Proposed Terms of Reference to the Ontario Ministry of the Environment.  Once approved by the Ministry of the Environment the CTC Proposed Terms of Reference will be posted on the Environmental Bill of Rights Registry and the CTC Source Protection Committee will have 12 months to complete its Assessment Report
